Welcoming Two New Scientists to the Quantum Biology Institute
The Quantum Biology Institute is excited to welcome two new team members whose expertise will play a vital role in building the infrastructure behind our work in quantum biology.
Dr. Lőrinc Sárkány is a quantum engineer with deep expertise in optical systems and a research background in the design of atomic lattice clocks. At QBI, he will lead the design of the optical component of our microscope and support the broader development of precision instrumentation for our experimental platforms.
Dr. Brian L. Ross joins QBI as the lead for molecular biology operations at our LA lab. Brian holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, where he developed protein-based biosensors to study the spatiotemporal dynamics of cell signaling. His background spans protein evolution, engineering, and design, as well as high-throughput sequencing and bioinformatics. At QBI, he’ll be leading molecular biology operations at our LA lab and driving forward our experimental biology efforts.
Stay tuned for more updates from the lab as the team — and the field — continues to grow.
